Joan Barreda is still fighting for the triumph in Dakar 2023. The fourth time achieved yesterday in the sixth stage allowed him to keep the absolute fourth position, 10m57s away from the leader, Skyler Howes (Husqvarna).
The rider who this year drives a Honda of his own team - the Monster Energy JB Team - spoke to the official Dakar website about how yesterday went for him:
- I tried to keep my pace. At the beginning it was a bit difficult, but then we attacked more in the dunes - I felt better. But I saw that the times were very tight, there were very small differences between the riders. After the first refuel I kept more calm and managed to get a position in the middle.
