Historic day for Luciano Benavides. In the sixth stage, the Husqvarna rider got his first victory of his career, overcoming his teammate Skyler Howes, who then cemented his lead in the standings.
The two riders representing the swedish brand fought for the top two positions against each other for most of the course, with Howes dictating the pace... before Luciano Benavides stood out in the final part to win with 1m03s ahead. Third was Toby Price (Red Bull KTM) at 2m28s, followed by Joan Barreda (Monster Energy JB Team/Honda) at 2m33s. On a close day, Kevin Benavides (Red Bull KTM) was nine seconds faster than Jose Ignacio Cornejo (Monster Energy Honda) to complete the top five.
In the general standings accounts, Howes cemented his lead, which is now 3m32s over Price. Kevin Benavides follows in third at exactly seven minutes, while Barreda is in fourth and Adrien van Beveren (Monster Energy Honda) in fifth. Mason Klein (BAS World KTM Racing Team), who was 12th in the day in which he had some difficulties, dropped from fourth to sixth, being one of the big losers this friday.
