Alex Rins comes to the LCR Honda team this year and will experience a completely different bike to the one he was used to in the first six seasons of his MotoGP career - from the Suzuki GSX-RR he will move to the Honda RC213V, to which he will have to adapt.
This is a naturally lengthy process, as the Spaniard admitted to Motorsport.com... also revealing that he will prepare himself on a road bike even though he knows it is far from being the same:
- Adapting to a new bike takes hours. This January I'm going to go training with a Honda 1000 [street bike] to several circuits, but no matter how many hours I do with that bike, it's not going to resemble a race bike. In the end, there is only one MotoGP bike, and it is very difficult to replicate the work you do with it.
